By creating the right conditions for learning, we can help young people stay connected to their intrinsic motivation to learn, grow and act as leaders in the world around them. Start by allowing young people to take on meaningful roles to create powerful change and they will make the connection between what they want to do and what they want to learn. When young people’s curiosity motivated their desire to learn, the ways we teach can dramatically shift. This session will explore how the Building Intentional Communities curriculum will foster engagement, mastery and tools to motivate young leaders (4th-8th graders) to take ownership of group process and outcomes.
